Charla Pau Amaro – Agujeros Negros y Ondas Gravitacionales

Título: Space-time mapping around supermassive black holes with gravitational waves
Conferenciante: Pau Amaro Seoane, Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics y Universitat de Politècnica València

Fecha: 13 de enero a las 12:30 h
Resumen: This talk will give a general description about the LISA space mission of ESA / NASA and one of its most interesting sources. Gravitational capture of an object of stellar mass through a supermassive black hole allows us to map space-time around these black holes. This phenomenon corresponds to having a camera taking hundreds of thousands of photos of spacetime, from all angles and distances of the black hole. In addition, we can extract with minimum errors parameters such as the mass of the black hole and its spin without doing any modeling, since it is a direct reading.
