On Thursday, December 11, 2025, the Institute for Multidisciplinary Mathematics held its Ordinary Council meeting at the Institute’s Seminar. The meeting was well attended, bringing together more than 30 participants in person and more than 5 connected online, reflecting the IMM community’s interest in the topics addressed.
The session opened with the reading and approval by acclamation of the previous minutes. The director of the IMM then presented an extensive report covering numerous aspects of the institute’s recent activity. Among the most relevant points were:
- The CCTs held throughout the year and the resolutions of calls for research support.
- A review of the results of the internships carried out by students linked to the IMM.
- Information on institute events, such as the new agreement with NIMS and the research talks organized.
- The IMM’s support for the renewal application of Professor Emeritus Joaquín Izquierdo.
- Congratulations to Damián Ginestar on his new positions as Deputy Director of the DMA and Academic Director of MUIMA.
- The recent promotion of several IMM members and the retirement of Jaime Riera.
- Presentation of the results of the ValER program and the current status of the REDIUM network.
- Announcement of the screening of the documentary “El tragaluz cuántico”, scheduled for February 5, 2026.
- Proposal to update the IMM logo.
- A summary of the meetings of the IUIs directors, where the draft of the new space management regulations was discussed.
- Information on the VAIP IMM 2023 and the internal research indicators for 2025.
- Recognition of the UPV 2025 Research Awards, given to Juan Carlos Cortés and Juan Ramón Torregrosa.
- Progress in the organization of the MME&HB 2025 and 2026 conferences.
Subsequently, the Council approved by acclamation the regulations of the IMM Scientific-Technical Commission and the settlement of the 2025 financial year. The session concluded with a question and answer session.

After the meeting, attendees enjoyed a reception at the CPI facilities, which served as a relaxed moment to share impressions and strengthen the cohesion of the IMM community.
