The second day of the congress has been marked by an intense scientific activity, with the celebration of several special sessions that have addressed topics of great interest in different fields of applied mathematics.
Throughout the day, six special sessions have been held: “Complex networks graphs and applications”, organized by Begoña Cantó, “Recent advances in Iterative Processes for Solving Nonlinear Problems”, organized by Neus Garrido and Juan R. Torregrosa, “Financial Mathematics”, organized by Julia Martínez and Lourdes Gómez, “Infectious Diseases and Mathematical Modeling in Public Health”, organized by Clara Burgos and Almudena Sánchez, “Mathematical Methods for Engineering Problems”, organized by Damián Ginestar, and “Mathematical models in population dynamics”, organized by L. M. Abia and M. A. López.
These sessions brought together national and international researchers to share the latest advances in their respective areas, showing the diversity and impact of mathematics in contexts as varied as public health, economics or engineering.
One of the most anticipated moments of the day took place at 11:00 AM, with the plenary session by Professor Chen Xian, from Peking University, entitled “Modeling the Normal Modes of the Moon and Its Application to Gravitational-wave Detection”. The lecture has captured the interest of the attendees, presenting an innovative mathematical approach to the study of the normal modes of the Moon and its relation to gravitational-wave detection.
In the afternoon, at 3:30 PM, the congress has given prominence to the new generations with a special session dedicated to the projects developed by undergraduate and master students of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV). This activity has served as a platform to showcase emerging talent and promote the exchange between young researchers and established experts.
The day culminates tonight with the traditional gala dinner of the congress, a relaxed meeting place to share experiences and strengthen ties within the scientific community.
